Dr. Andrea Ferretti
"A holistic approach to Health"In March, 2014 Dr. Ferretti was granted the dual designation of Registered Nutritional Consulting Practitioner and Registered Orthomolecular Health Practitioner by the International Organization of Nutritional Consultants (IONC), after her completion of a programme in Orthomolecular Nutrition for Professionals with the Natural Medicine College, Milton, Ontario.
By law, anyone may call themselves a nutritional counsellor, but only those who have thoroughly studied nutrition and have met the requirements of IONC are granted the RNCP or ROHP designation.
Registered Nutritional Consulting Practitioners (RNCP) are professionals trained in holistic nutrition and complementary therapies. RNCPs can educate you about the benefits of a sound nutritional program and healthy lifestyle to encourage your body to achieve optimum health and energy. RNCPs follow a code of ethics. RNCPs can assess individual nutritional imbalances and weaknesses to enhance your immune system and recommend specific diets and nutritional support to help you build and maintain well-being. RNCPs can help you make the best possible food choices. It is important to eat a variety of foods to ensure all essential nutrients are included in the diet. An RNCP will introduce new dietary habits, incorporating the latest nutritional breakthroughs. However, it may be difficult to achieve optimal health through food alone. In such cases, RNCPs are trained to design personalized dietary supplement programs. RNCPs can help you navigate confidently through this maze, designing an individualized program respecting your unique biochemistry and enhancing your well-being. In the past, it was the custom to follow the Canada Food Guide in order to achieve dietary wellness. However, what has been established is that this approach does not meet the nutritional requirements for superior health, nor does it meet even the basic requirements for every one of us: we are all different and our dietary needs can greatly vary.
Registered Orthomolecular Health Practitioner™ (ROHP) is the designation given by IONC to a qualified healthcare professional that specializes in maintaining or restoring biochemistry and physiology in the body for optimum health and well-being. Orthomolecular Health practitioners assess the unique dietary and nutritional requirements of an individual and utilize a full spectrum of customized natural therapies including: diet and nutritional supplements, detoxification, and drainage. Only practitioners who meet IONC standards may refer to themselves as a Registered Orthomolecular Health Practitioner (ROHP).
Since 2014, Dr. Ferretti has continued her studies in the field of natural medicine and presently is completing the dissertation requirement for a doctorate in natural medicine. She is concurrently undertaking a program in coaching and counselling patients who are challenged with degenerative diseases.
